CO-OPTED BOARD MEMBERS

In the coming days, Deputy Principal members will receive an email, seeking EOIs for co-opted positions on the WAPPA Board. Deputy Principals make up approximately 47% of WAPPA’s active membership and we believe it is crucial to have the voice of Deputy Principals at a board level, when planning for future support needs and services, professional learning and advocacy issues. If you are interested in knowing more, please keep an eye out for this email and feel free to contact the Business Centre.

LEADERS OF ED SUPPORT

This week a number of school leaders, who lead Inclusive Ed Support Settings, met at WAPPA to discuss a variety of issues that will support WAPPA’s future advocacy efforts. Members from across the state joined online and in the Business Centre.  Topics of discussion included funding models, facilities and infrastructure, School Psychologist FTE, resources and training. This group will continue to meet over the course of the year. If you are interested in knowing more, please contact our Member Services Officer, Angie.

If you find yourself in need of support or advice around similar topics, please reach out through one of the many options available to members.

🗳️ POLLING BOOTHS 🌭 A WAPPA member recently sent this handy link to us, which shows exactly how many people voted at specific polling booths, across the state, in 2021. If your school is a polling booth, it may help your P&C or school with planning for the great democracy sausage. All you need to do is choose your electorate from the drop down menu, then scroll to the bottom, where statistics for each polling booth are listed.

PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

Big news for WA schools! Fotoworks is honoured and thrilled to announce that we are joining forces with Midland Photographers, taking ownership early 2025.

What does this mean for your school? Here’s the best part – nothing is changing!

Same friendly team – Tom, Trish, and the crew you know and love will still be there (and yes, still bringing the morning tea!).
Same great service – The Midland brand, approach, and commitment to schools remains the friendly and professional service you trust.
More variety, more support – With Fotoworks behind the scenes, you now have a broader choice of services, products and pricing to offer your school community.

This transition is a special one as Tom, Midland Photographers’ founder, personally chose Fotoworks as the right team to continue his legacy after 50 years of dedicated service. Our shared passion for supporting WA schools and keeping it local made this an easy decision, and we are excited to build on Midland’s incredible reputation and bring even more value to your school photography experience.

We can’t wait to continue working with you in 2025 and beyond! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
The Fotoworks Team
