Nullagine Students Explore New Horizons at Sydney STEAM Camp

In a true reflection of Nullagine Primary School’s motto “Explore the World,” 15 excited students recently had the opportunity to travel to Sydney for an action-packed STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Camp.

The camp offered a rich blend of hands-on learning experiences and memorable sightseeing adventures. At Taronga Park Zoo, students engaged with a range of fascinating animals and participated in an environmental science workshop focused on vertical gardens—an eye-opening look at sustainable practices in action.

A visit to the Australian Museum saw students take part in an archaeological dig, where they explored ancient artefacts and learned the skills of a budding archaeologist, sparking curiosity and wonder about the past.

Alongside the educational experiences, the camp also delivered plenty of fun and adventure. One of the standout moments was climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, where students challenged themselves and were rewarded with spectacular views of the city skyline. The group also enjoyed a delicious dinner at a traditional Chinese restaurant, experiencing a taste of Sydney’s multicultural vibrancy.

This unforgettable experience allowed Nullagine students to broaden their horizons, deepen their interest in STEAM subjects, and create lasting memories that will continue to inspire them well beyond the classroom.
