Under the leadership of Principal Linda Griffin, Nedlands Primary School has become a vibrant hub of connection, belonging and shared purpose. In 2025, Linda was recognised as the City of Nedlands Community Citizen of the Year, with Director General Jay Peckitt acknowledging her steady, values-based leadership and commitment to inclusion, cultural understanding and strong community partnerships.

Linda’s vision is simple: schools thrive at the heart of their community. She has worked to create a welcoming environment where families and community groups feel as valued as students, and where holistic and academic excellence are equally prioritised.

From opening school grounds after hours to support connection among international families, to hosting carefully selected programs in sport, chess, robotics and health services, partnerships at Nedlands PS are collaborative and purposeful. Community groups co-design learning experiences and contribute to the school’s cultural and social fabric. Local history, environmental stewardship and authentic cultural recognition are embedded across the school.

Grounded in relationship-centred leadership, Linda fosters trust, listens deeply and ensures every voice matters. The school’s “relational triage” approach provides tailored, practical support so that no family feels isolated or unseen.

Today, Nedlands Primary is more than a school. It is a thriving community hub where students flourish, families feel connected and the wider community shares in a strong sense of pride and belonging.
