Developing a Kindergarten Curriculum

The purpose of the Kindergarten Guidelines is to facilitate the optimal learning and development of Kindergarten children in Western Australia. The Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines draw on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF, Commonwealth of Australia, 2009) to focus on the Kindergarten year in Western Australia.

Early childhood educators take into consideration contextual factors when designing and implementing quality curriculum for the Kindergarten year. The size and diversity of Western Australia means that educators tailor programs to meet the diverse needs of children and families with whom they work.

During this workshop participants will explore the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines content and begin to develop their own Kindy curriculum pertinent to their context.

Members are strongly urged to attend with at least one Early Childhood educator from the school. Senior Leadership Teams, School leaders, Curriculum Leaders
