WAPPA offers a range of membership options to support and connect school leaders at every stage of their career. Whether you’re an experienced principal, an aspiring leader, a past member, or working in an allied leadership role, there’s a membership category designed for you. Each category provides access to professional support, advocacy, leadership development, and a statewide network of peers dedicated to advancing primary education.
Open to principals and deputy principals of WA government schools with a primary component, principals and deputy principals in acting positions, for over one semester, in a WA government school with a primary component (full membership for a period of one year) and individuals who have held substantive positions as principals or deputy principals in a WA government school, with a primary component, but currently occupy other administrative roles or hold positions in district office, central office or on secondment.
Ordinary Members can elect to have their Teachers Registration Board fees paid by WAPPA.
RESTRICTED MEMBERSHIP
Open to primary principals, primary deputy principals of junior schools in private schools, principals and deputy principals of schools working outside of Western Australia, directors and senior executive of the Department of Education (WA) and principal consultants employed under the Education Act and who are not eligible for Ordinary Membership of the Association.
ASPIRANT MEMBERSHIP
Open to teaching staff working in WA government schools with a primary component and who are committed to professional learning to obtain the necessary skills and experience to become a Principal.
ALUMNI MEMBERSHIP
Open to individuals who previously held a WAPPA Ordinary Membership during their career but have now retired. WAPPA runs various events for alumni members.
